The Tolani Maritime Institute conducts TMISAT for admission to B.S. Marine Engineering and B.S. Nautical Technology courses. Tolani Maritime Institute conducts the entrance examination in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

These engineering programs are a part of the off campus courses provided by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.


Eligibility

  • The candidate must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent.
  • The candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (P C M), and 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
  • The Institute has laid down detailed minimum physical fitness and medical standards. The candidate has to meet these standards to qualify for admission.
  • Only unmarried candidates are considered for admission into the institute.

Syllabus

The test syllabus is based on 11th and 12th CBSE standard Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects; plus English grammar, vocabulary and Logical & Analytical reasoning.


Pattern

TMISAT is conducted online, and there are a total of 100 objective questions with multiple choice answers. The exam has questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Logic and analytical problem solving. The test duration is 2 hours.

Negative marking is done Physics and Maths. In other subjects, there is no negative marking. The candidates are given detailed instructions at the centre before the tests starts.

The test is designed to assess the candidate’s problem solving skills, reasoning skills, language skills, general knowledge, subject knowledge, and aptitude and personality traits. TMISAT is conducted in nine centers across India.
