Applications are invited from eligible and experienced candidates for various Non-Teaching posts for the following positions:

  • Deputy Librarian
  • Deputy Registrar

Note

  • Candidates’ appointment is to be done on contract basis initially for a period of five years. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in academics, work experience, written test / interview. Candidates short-listed in the initial screening will be called for the written test / interview.

Eligibility Conditions

For Deputy Librarian

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade, consistently good academic record from a recognized University / Institute

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as an Assistant University Librarian / College Librarian

  • Must have evidence of innovative library services published work professional commitment and computerization of a library

  • Master’s Degree of Philosophy / PhD Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation / Archieves and Manuscript Keeping, with computerization of a Library is desirable.

  • Should have specialized course in Computer Applications & Networking

  • Should have work experience in Computerized Libraries

For Deputy Registrar

  • Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University / Institute

  • Minimum 9 years of work experience as Assistant Professor, in the AGP of Rs 6000 and above with experience in Educational Administration
                          Or
    Have comparable experience in Research Establishment or other Institution of Higher Education
                          Or
    Minimum 5 years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post with PB-3 with GP Rs.5400

  • MBA Degree or its equivalent qualification is desirable.

  • Should have experience in Student Welfare Activities

  • Should have sound knowledge / experience of Computer Systems for Information Processing and Retrieval

For Project Engineer-cum-Estate Officer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 1st class division from a recognized University / Institute

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Construction PB-3 with GP-5400

  • Should have experience in Estate management in hilly terrain

  • Should have sound knowledge / experience of Computer Systems for Information Processing and Retrieval

For Assistant Registrar (Administration)

  • Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B’ in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University / Institute

  • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience in Govt. Dept. or University / Educational / Research Institute or in a Commercial organization of National repute in the PB-2 with GP 4800

  • MBA Degree in HR or its equivalent qualification is desirable.

  • Should have good knowledge in dealing with Establishment and Recruitment Matters

  • Should have sound knowledge / experience of Computer Systems for Information Processing and Retrieval

For Assistant Registrar (Academics)

  • Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University / Institute

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in handling Academic Activities in Govt. Dept or University / Educational / Research Institute or in a Commercial Organization of national repute in the PB-2 with GP 4800

  • MBA Degree or its equivalent qualification is desirable.

  • Should have sound knowledge / experience of Computer Systems for Information Processing and Retrieval

For P.A. to Registrar

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with minimum two years of work experience as Stenographer
                                   Or
    Bachelor’s Degree with professional Diploma / Certificate in Secretarial Practice, with minimum one year of work experience in the relevant field

  • Good knowledge of Computer Office Applications & Secretarial Practices

  • Should have minimum work speed of 10,000 impressions per hour on Computer Keyboard

  • Should have minimum Shorthand speed of 100 WPM in English

  • Candidates can also obtain the application form directly from the office of the Registrar, IIT Mandi or by sending a self-addressed envelope (10 x 4cm), with affixed stamped of Rs.10 / Rs.27, mentioning “Request for Application Form-Advertisement No” on it, to the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Old PWD Rest House, Near Bus Stand, Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) - 175001, before 10 days from the last date of applying.

  • For paying the application fees, candidates should obtain a DD for Rs.100, drawn in favor of Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, payable at State Bank of India, IIT Mandi Branch (SBIN 0000676).

  • Application Form, duly complete in all respect, along with latest passport-size photograph, DD and attested photocopies of all relevant certificates, should be submitted to:
