The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, is an institution that was deemed a University by the University Grants Commission Act in the May of 2005. The goal of the University is to provide training and instructions in various medical science fields, provide research facilities to advance the spread and understanding of knowledge and to undertake mural studies and other extension programs to reach out and contribute toward the development of a healthy society. The University offers various courses including, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Diplomas in Gynaecology, Child Health, Medical Radio-diagnosis, Orthopedics, Medical Laboratory Technology and Anaesthesia and postgraduate courses (MD) in Community Medicine, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Radio-diagnosis and Anaesthesia. The University also offers courses for Ph.D students in various medical fields.
