The Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, also known as the Bhoj University is an autonomous, public institution of higher education located in the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The University was established by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh in the year of 1991 with the use of an act of the State Legislature. The University is known after the great patron of learning, Raja Bhoj Deva of Malwa. The Bhoj University has over 1.5lac students enrolled in various courses, making it the second biggest Open University in India. The University aims to provide an easy access to higher education to all learners irrespective of the gender, age, religious beliefs etc., via various educational materials such as textbooks, practical classes, Radio/Video/TV/Audio programs, contact teaching etc.

The University has 8 main schools and departments. The Schools of Basic Science was established with the goal to provide students with new courses in various fields of Basic Sciences at a Research, postgraduate or graduate level. The Schools also plans to stat a B.Sc in Physics and Mathematics to further its goals. The School of Health Sciences trains students to be Dietitians via postgraduate diplomas in Therapeutics, Dietetics and Nutritional Programs.The Institute of Information Technology promotes IT knowledge to further skills for knowledge and professional purposes. The Department of Multimedia Education offers professional teaching courses in English and Hindi. The Department of Special Education provides courses and educators for institutions that are active in the disability field. The Department of HACT offers various Masters degree programs in Indian History, Archaeology and Culture. The School of Management provides students with an opportunity to upgrade their management skills and prepare for future opportunities. Other than the above mentioned departments, the University also houses the Department of Law and the Electronic Media Production and Research Centre.
