Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, also known as MNNIT or NIT Allahabad, is a public Institute for Engineering and Technology, located in Allahabad, Indian. Earlier it used to known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC). NIT-Allahabad was established in 1961 by the government of India and also recognised as Institute of National Importance.

NIT-Allahabad ranked number 1 in best engineering institute of North India Ranking. It is the first college of engineering which started undergraduate programme in computer science and engineering in 1976-77.

The campus occupies land of 222 acres and situated on the bank of river Ganga. MNNIT has residential area in the campus including 7 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel. One of those hostel is dedicated to postgraduate students. The hostels have capacity to accommodate around 1800 students and girls hostel has capacity of 150 students. Additionally, campus also own computer center, CAD Lab, Central Library, Geo Lab, Heat Engine lab, Concrete lab, Virtual Instrumentation Lab, Electrical Machines lab, multipurpose hall, Mechanical workshop, seminar hall and conference. The classroom of MNNIT is fully air-conditioned.

MNNIT offer 9 undergraduate and 19 postgraduate programs. Undergraduate programs includes four year B.Tech, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Bio Technology, Civil Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Production and Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Postgraduate programs includes 2 year M.tech, MCA, computational Mathematics, Scientific computing, Management studies and Social work (MSW). Admission process for MNNIT undergraduate program is through JEE and for Postgraduate is through GATE or CAT.

MNNIT has world class placement rate, 2011-12 batch student got placed in Facebook with the package of US$210,000.
