The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, commonly abbreviated as NIT Hamirpur, is a public institute of Engineering and Technology, located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It was established in 1986 by the government of India and it is one of the 30 National Institute of Technology with the status of Deemed University. The campus of NIT Hamirpur is spread out in the area of 320 acres in Hamirpur. Earlier is used called Regional Engineering College, Hamirpur. NIT-Hamirpur is a joint venture of Government of Himachal Pradesh and Government of India.

NIT-Hamirpur offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering and Architecture. It also has Doctor of Philosophy programs in Engineering, Humanities and Science. The academic department of NIT-Hamirpur includes Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management and Social Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Energy and Environment, Material Science, Mathematics and Statistics.

The admission mode of undergraduate programs is through Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main). B.Tech, Bachelor of Technology, course contain eight semesters whereas Bachelor in Architecture B.Arch has ten semesters. NIT-Hamirpur started its postgraduate program in 2005 and the admission procedure for postgraduate program is through GATE, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Other courses like Doctor of Philosophy was introduced in 2006, MBA, Master of Business Administration, was in 2009. The admission process for Doctorate program includes previous experience in research and interviews by screening committees.

NIT-Hamirpur also have facilities like computer center, central library and sports. The computing and communication facilities are operated throughout the campus by computer centre. The central library has seating area of 500 people including 100 readers in the audio-visual hall. Sports centre of NIT-Hamirpur has indoor as well as outdoor game facilities which includes lawn tennis, badminton, table tennis, basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, and many other athletics.

The campus has its own residential area inside the college premises and most of the staff live in the campus only. Student hostel has been divided into two part, Boys hostels and Girls hostel. There are 8 boys hostel and one girls hostel at the campus. The name given to hostels are Kailash Boys' Hostel, Shivalik Boys' Hostel, Parvati Girls' Hostel, Dhauladhar Boys' Hostel Vindhyachal Boys' Hostel, Mani Mahesh Boys' Hostel, Neelkanth Boys' Hostel, Satpura Hostel and APJ Abdul Kalam Boy's Hostel. The students at the campus also run literacy mission to help educate the poor children. NIT-Hamirpur also practice Art of Living session, it helps student and staff benefit.
