National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, also called NIT Jamshedpur or NIT-J, is an institute of engineering and technology based in Jamshedpur, India. NIT Jamshedpur was established in 1960 as a Regional Institute of Technology which was declared National Institute of Technology on December 27th, 2002. NIT Jamshedpur is a Deemed University which was constructed under the Ministry of HRD.

NIT Jamshedpur occupies 350 acres of land located 2 km from the Tata Seraikella Road. The campus is surrounded by extreme greenery along with thick follage, hills and mountains in the backdrop. It is located 3 km from Adityapur railway station and 11 km from main Tatanagar city. The programs offered by NIT-Jamshedpur are four year of B.Tech, three year of M.C.A, 6 years of Continuing Education, 2 years M.Tech and Ph.D.

The courses offered in B.Tech consist metallurgical engineering and material , electronics and communication engineering course, civil engineering course, electrical and electronic engineering course, computer science and engineering course, mechanical engineering course, and production and industrial engineering. Admission process of B.tech program is through AIEEE, 2012 and JEE mains 2013 onwards, these exams are conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education and DASA. M.tech admission process through GATE, conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology. For MCA the admission mode is through NIMCET conducted by the National Institute of Technology. The Ph.D programs of NIT-Jamshedpur are electronics and communication engineering course, computer science and engineering course, mechanical engineering course, electrical and electronics engineering, civil engineering course,production and industrial engineering course, and continuing education offers courses like mechanical and electrical disciplines, B.Sc and engineering.

The facilities offered by NIT- Jamshedpur includes Computer centre, central digital library, central workshop, institute dispensary, technology students gymkhana, central store, bank, post office and canteen.
