The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan or simply the Mathura University, is a University of higher education in the fields of animal husbandry and veterinary science, situated in Mathura, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The University was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the year of 1947, and was the first Veterinary institute of higher education in Asia to offer a Veterinary Science degree. The main campus of the University is just about 5km from the railway station at Mathura, and is spread across a large 780 acre piece of land in the Mathura Cantonment area and about 1400 acres of land at Madhuri Kund, another 20km away from the main campus.
The Mathura University has various faculties which run various departments under them to help spread learning. The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry has under its wing the departments of Anatomy, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary biochemistry, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Surgery, Livestock Products Technology, Livestock Production and Management and Central Instrumentation Laboratory among others. The College of Fisheries runs the departments of Aquaculture, Fish Processing Technology and Microbiology, Fishery Engineering, fisheries work experience, Fishery Biology etc. The College of Livestock Product Technology which run the departments of Dairy Technology, Carcass Utilization, Wool Technology etc. The College of Animal Industry and Business Management which run the 6 departments of Livestock Resource Assessment, Animal Industry Management, Human Resource Development, Animal Products Marketing Management, Livestock Products Policy and Research, Post Marketing Strategies and Business management. The College of Bio-Technology, Go-Anusandhan Sansthan and the Teaching Veterinary Clinical Service Complex complete the list of the faculties in the University.
