The Panjab University is a public university for higher education and learning and is located in Chandigarh, Punjab. The Punjab University was established in 1882 at Lahore but after separation of India and Pakistan the year in 1947, the university had no campus of its own, therefore in 1956 the campus was moved to Chandigarh. The campus occupies the land of 550 acres and is located in 14 and 25 sector of Chandigarh city. The campus has a residential area and facilities like health centre, hostels, residential housing, sports complex and library.
