Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, is a university of higher education, learning and research and is located in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was formed in the year 1981 by the Sathya Sai Baba and is affiliated by the UGC. Mr. Sathya Sai Baba is the chancellor and Prof. J. shashidhara Prasad is the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs in mathematics, nanoscience and nanotechnology, chemistry, computer science, commerce, physics, optics, biosciences and economics. It also offers MBA courses and the admission for MBA program is done through GATE followed by personal interview and group discussions. The research department of the university has published journals in applied physics letters, American chemical society, optics letters, langmuir, and materials chemistry C. The faculty of the university includes faculty of science, faculty of economics & humanities, department of other languages and faculty of management commerce. The admission process is done through the common entrance examination conducted by the university and the selection of the candidates are based on their performance in the examinations.
The activities organized by the university includes, music, drama, quiz, elocution, dance, painting, card-making, Bhagavad Gita reading, bookmark-making, panel discussion, making useful articles out of waste materials, yoga classes, self- reliance social service weeks, hostels, etc. According to university rules, all students has to stay in the hostel. The university provides free education and students has free access to tuition, labs, library and examinations. It has also introduced few new course of 5 years duration to improve education and promote talent.
