The All India Pre Veterinary Test is conducted by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) New Delhi. The candidates who pass this test are eligible for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree courses.


Eligibility

All Indian citizens are eligible except the State of Jammu & Kashmir.Candidate should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2. The candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

OR

(ii) The Intermediate Science Examination in Science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (with a practical test in these subjects) and English.

The candidate must have passed the qualifying examinations above. The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination.

For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

The candidate should be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.


Syllabus

The test consists of the general syllabus of 11th and 12th class under the 10+2 scheme. There is no separate syllabus for the examination prescribed by the Council.


Pattern

The AIPVT test duration will be of 3 with a single question paper of 200 objective type multiple choice questions. The questions will be based on the subjects of from Physics, Chemistry and Biology as in that of the class 11th and 12th.

The division of questions for each subject will be as follows:

Physics- 60 questions

Chemistry- 60 questions

Biology-80 questions
