JEE (Main) Pattern:

JEE consists of two papers: Paper I & Paper II, and the duration for each paper is three hours. Paper I is meant for B.E & B.Tech courses, and Paper II is meant for B.Arch courses. Candidates can opt for one or both the papers.

Paper I consists of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry sections- the questions in each of the sections are multiple choice objective questions and each question has equal weightage. One fourth of the maximum marks allotted to the question are negatively marked in case of an incorrect answer. For Paper I, candidates can opt for Computer Based Test to give the paper online.

Paper II has Mathematics, Drawing and Aptitude sections. There are multiple choice objective questions for Mathematics and Drawing sections, and in the Aptitude section, candidates have to answer questions based on drawing.

The number of questions in the papers and the maximum marks vary every year.
