Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, is an open university of higher education and learning and is located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was formed in the year 1999 by the Government of India and is affiliated by the UGC. It has been named after Mr. Purushottam Das Tandon. B.L. Joshi is the chancellor and prof J V Vaishampayan is the vice-chancellor of the university.

The courses offered by the university includes First Degree Programmes, Professional Programmes,Postgraduate Programmes, Certificate Programme, General Diploma Programme, Computer Programmes, Vocational Programmes, Awareness Programmes and Adult & Continuing Education Programmes. The admission is done through the common entrance examination conducted by the university. The central library is house of 41387 collection of books, book on humanities, natural science, developing science and social sciences, 92 learned journals, 5 daily newspaper, reading material, reference material and about 12 periodicals. Currently, university is catering about 50,000 students on campus along with faculty members and staff. The fee structure of undergraduate program is about 2600 to 5200, depending on the courses students applying for and for post graduation diploma program the fee structures are in between 3100 to 5700, depending on the course. For diploma courses the starting fee is 2600 and it goes up to 4400 depending on the course. The fees for masters programs are 9400 to 13700, depending on the course.
