Rajendra Agricultural University, is a public university of agricultural studies, research and learning and is located in Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar, India. The university was formed in the year 1970 by the Government of India. Dr. R.K. Mittal is the vice-chancellor of the university and is affiliated by UGC.
Rajendra Agricultural university offers 6 bachelors, 33 masters and 18 Ph.D programs and only this university offers MBA programs in Agribusiness. It has about 5 faculties which includes agricultural engineering, fisheries, agriculture, basic sciences, veterinary and animal sciences, daily technology and veterinary and animal sciences. The admission process of the university is done through the common entrance examination conducted by the university every year. The university also has five constituent colleges which includes college of fisheries, college of basic sciences & humanities, Tirhut college of agriculture, college of home science and college of agricultural engineering. It also follow reservation policy, few seats are reserved for the RCG, EBC, scheduled caste, BC and scheduled tribes. The reservation policy law has been passed by the Government of Bihar.
The facility offered by the university are hostels ( separate for girls and boys), health centre, free medical facilities, sports club, residential areas for staff members, library, research department, students counselling, canteen, gym, cultural events and etc. The university also organise annual cultural or agricultural events/festival, in which thousands of students from other colleges also participate. The festival hold activities like quiz competition, musical night, dance, exhibition, DJ night, debate, sports competitions and many more.
