Ministry of Human resource Development has declared to offer 5000 scholarships annually to encourage students of the Jammu and Kashmir.

The students who are appearing for class XII or equivalent exams through Central Board of Secondary Education or State Board Jammu & Kashmir affiliated schools are eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme.

Out of total 5000, 4500 scholarship will be offered to general degree courses while remaining 500 will be given to medical and engineering students with 250 each.

Per annum Rs. 30,000 amount is offered as tuition fee for general degree courses whereas option Rs. 1.25 lakh is offered for engineering students and Rs. 3 lakh for medical students. Besides Rs. 1 lakh is provided to accomplish the incidental and hostel fees for all courses.

The AICTE has requested online applications in order to avail this scholarship program. As per the recommendation, a cash sum of Rs. 9,30,44,164 has been released for 1048 students.
