Applications are invited by Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra for admission to the full time/part time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in various disciplines for the commencing session 2012-13.

Eligibility Condition

• The candidate should possess an M.Phil/Master’s degree in Technology/ Engineering/ Pharmacy/ Management/ Architecture/ or equivalent, with a minimum of 60% marks at Master’s level for General candidates (55% in case of Full-Time Sponsored candidates with a minimum of three years professional experience, and SC/ST candidates) or an M.Phil./Master’s Degree in Science/Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks at Master’s level for General candidates (50% in case of Full-Time Sponsored candidates with a minimum of three years professional experience, and SC/ST candidates) or any other discipline approved by the Technical Council of the Institute from time to time.

• The completed application forms along with the requisite documents and a demand draft of Rs.2500 (Rs.1200 for SC/ST candidates), drawn in favor of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi should be sent by post to the office of ‘Dean, Admission & Academic Coordination, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi

Selection Procedure

• The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the Ph.D. Entrance Test 2012 which will be conducted by the institute.

• Last date for receipt of completed application form 30th Jul, 2012.
• Date of Entrance Exam 17th Aug, 2012.
