PH.D PROGRAMMES
Eligibility
Any Higher Degree of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
Any applicant with qualification equivalent to Integrated first degree of BITS will be first examined for suitability to one of the higher degree programmes of the Institute. Such candidates may first be admitted to the M.E./M.Phil. programmes offered by the Institute subject to the eligibility conditions.
Selection procedure
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test/interview for selections. Selected candidates will be given financial assistance in the form of either a fellowship of any government agency or of the Institute, project or teaching assistantship, full/partial tuition waiver or a combination of these.
Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and any other developmental activities of the Institute under the guidance of a mentor.
Industries and R & D Organizations collaborating with BITS can sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D under the Ph.D Aspirants Scheme.
Under this Scheme such Employed professionals working in Industries and R&D Organizations having long experience and proven competence aspiring for Ph.D. programme will be considered and will be allowed to pursue their research at their own locations of work.
Eligibility for Ph.D:
M.E./M.Pharm/MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Candidates with an M.Sc/B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate will also be considered for PhD admission.
For Ph.D Programme in Languages and humanities, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered.
Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS may sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D under “Aspirants scheme”. Its details are available at www.bitsadmission.com.
Under this scheme, such employed professionals having long experience and proven competence are admitted and will be allowed to pursue their research work at their own locations.
For the Ph.D Programmes, shortlisted candidates will be asked to come to Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad for test and/or interview during 2nd week of July.
