IBPS Common Bank Exam Written Test in September 2011

IBPS( Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ) has issued official announcment for common test for recruitment into public sector banks. IT's a good news for all the Bank jobs Aspirants in India. Scorecards will be provided to all the candidates that will give the eligible candidates direct entry to the interview/GD(as decided by the bank) phase of recruitment drives of public sector banks.

The common test is for recruitment of Probationary Officer or Management Trainee vacancies that arise in Following 19 public Sector banks.

Important Dates :

Online Application Registration: 9th July  - 3rd August, 2011.
IBPS CWE (Common written Examination) test: 18th Sept., 2011.

Eligibility Conditions :

  • As on 1st .July, 2011 The candidate Should, be between 20 to 30 yrs of Age,
  • Have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university (Please note that no specific percentage has been mentioned. Pass is the only criteria.),
  • Those that have not completed their degree as on1st July  2011 are not eligible to apply. However those that have not got there degrees but have results of their final year/semester, are eligible to apply.
  • Don't worry if you are not yet eligible, as the IBPS common bank exam will be conducted Twice a year.
  • Also, note that there will be separate common test for clerk jobs in banks that will be announced after PO exams.

Written Test Pattern :

Test pattern for common bank exam is same as previous banking recruitments with Objective & Descriptive papers for a total of 250 marks. The various components of written exam are as follows:

Note :

  • There is Negative Marking for wrong answers of .25 of the total marks for the question.
  • Descriptive Paper is on English Composition (Essay,Precis,Letter Writing etc) for 25 Marks and Duration is 60 Minutes.
    Candidates completing the exam would be given a scorecard Which will be valid for One year.
  • Public sector banks looking to recruit for above posts will notify eligibility (age, education, test score etc) & invite applications from candidates having valid scorecards. Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can send in their applications & proceed directly to Interview or Group discussion (Accroding to selection Criteria as decided by the bank).

How To Apply :

  • Application Fee is Rs.50 (SC/ST) or Rs.450 (others).
  • Payment to be made by Cash Voucher.
  • Payment can be done in Online or Offline Mode. Both are as described Below:-

Payment of Fees Via the Online Mode :

  • The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
  • The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated whose print out have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.

Note:  The Candidates must download the call letter for common bank exam 2011 from IBPS website after 4th Sept. It wont be sent through post.

Payment of Fees Via the Offline Mode :

Payment of Fees through NEFT enabled branches of the 19 named Public Sector Banks.

Candidates are required to fill the NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) voucher as required by the Bank with beneficiary details as follows.

  • Name of the Account : IBPS CWE- Officers’ Cadre- 2011
  • Account Number : 005120110000667
  • Payee Bank : Bank of India
  • IFSC Code : BKID0000051
  • Candidates can then make payment of the requisite fee.
  • The NEFT payment receipt must be collected from the Bank where payment has been made.
  • Candidates should check that the receipt is properly signed and the details of NEFT UTR NO., IFSC code of the sending Bank branch, Name of the sending Bank, City name, Deposit date, Amount etc. are noted in the NEFT Payment Receipt by the Branch authorities.

Note :

  • Candidates are required to submit the NEFT receipt along with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
  • After obtaining payment receipt, applicants can submit their application online at IBPS Website for which a registration number & password would be received in email/SMS. It is necessary to upload your signature & photo along with the online application.
