The Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi has invited applications for admission to
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes
offered in various specializations.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
For M.Phil programmes:
Aspiring candidates must be having a Master's degree of any recognised university/other qualifications recognised as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the university.
For Ph.D programmes:
Aspiring candidates must be having a Master's degree and/or MPhil in the relevant discipline along with the relevant qualifications.
Selection procedure:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university at an all India level.
Those holding an M.Phil degree (along with course work and dissertation both) or those candidates who have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR) or any other equivalent examination will be exempted from appearing in the entrance test.
