Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the 53 assistant Fisheries officer (Backlog vacancies for schedule caste categories candidates (SC) / schedule tribe categories candidates (ST) / SEBC categories candidates) for fisheries and A.R.D department. Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and should not be more than of 32 years. The age of the applicant should be as on 1st day of January 2015. 

Qualification

  • Candidates should have bachelor degree in fisheries science (B.F.Sc.) from a recognized university in India / abroad. 

Selection Procedure

  • The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of career assessment and viva – voce. The government at their discretion may short list the applicants to a reasonable number for conducting interview by making a preliminary selection on the basis of evaluation of their academic career taking into account the requisite minimum educational qualification. 

Age Relaxation

The upper age of the candidates in relaxable for the following specified categories to the extent indicated below:-

  • By 5 years for candidates belonging to ST communities.
  • By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC communities.
  • By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 

Application fee

  • Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs 300/- only. Applicants belonging to schedule caste categories candidates (SC) / schedule tribe categories candidates of Odisha and person with disabilities categories candidates are exempted from payment of this fee.

  • Candidates may apply through official website of Odisha Public service commission www.opsc.gov.in from 20th May 2016 to 10th June 2016 and applicants may also send the print-put / hard copy of application duly signed under the declaration form along with fee deposit Challan / copies of relevant certificates and in an envelope should be super – scribed as the “Application for the post of assistant Fisheries officer” by registered post / speed post to the special secretary
