The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has decided to introduce Diploma Course in Fruits and Vegetables processing  that will help youths to learn skills of fruits and vegetables processing by inviting applications for admission in the course –

  • Diploma in Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables (DVAPFV)

 for the academic session 2013.  Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, this diploma program in fruits and vegetables processing is being offered by IGNOU with intent to instill vocational and entrepreneurial skills particularly in rural youth and the disadvantaged sections of the society, which will widen employment opportunities as well as self employment among them.

Admissions in DVAPFV will be open till 08 July without late fee and 31 July with late fee. The minimum duration of this diploma course is one year; however, the candidates will have the flexibility of completing the program within four years of time in either Hindi or English medium.

The minimum eligibility requirement for admission in DVAPFV is 10+2 pass-outs or Bachelor Preparatory Program (BPP) from IGNOU. The course fee is Rs. 12,000, but the candidates from rural areas and those living below poverty line in urban areas could be allowed 50 per cent fee concession on submitting the respective valid proof.
